Cisco’s 2960X and 2960XR Catalyst series switches come in 24 or 48 port Gigabit configurations with 4x fixed 1Gbps SFP, 2x 10Gbps SFP+, 1GbE, or a hybrid combination of uplink ports. All are in fixed configurations, most are stackable, and run with Cisco’s IOS software for simple device management. These are fully managed switches that provide L2 and L3 features with some models include PoE and PoE+ options. When calculating PoE requirements, make sure to reference the maximum PoE power budget of the chassis, how many devices are being powered, and how much wattage is required per device. Most 2960XR line of switches have 2 removable power supplies for redundancy and a second power supply either enables PoE or increases the maximum PoE power budget for the switch. This line of switches are designed for energy efficient deployment with a lower total cost of ownership, scalable, and secure.
